The Next Gen of Market Research Bloggers
Gen X may be running the show now, but a lot of the work in market research is being done by Millennial and Gen Z staff, and, well, they have opinions too.
I set out last month to find market research’s Sahil Bloom. If you’re not familiar with Sahil, he just wrote a bestselling book called The 5 Types of Wealth. He is, as far as I can tell, probably around 33 years old and has nearly 640,000 LinkedIn followers. Full disclosure—I don’t know Sahil, but I do know his talented sister Sonali Bloom.
The thing about Sahil is that he is trading off his curiosity and framing his content in terms of learning. His newsletter, appropriately, is called “The Curiosity Chronicle.” Basically, he says, we’re both interested in topic X. Let’s explore it together. This is a valuable way to approach a topic, though different from, say, an expert reflecting on their decades of experience in a field. I also like that he didn’t wait for anyone’s permission to start writing.
In wondering who might fit this bill in the market research world, I ended up coming across quite a few talented young MR bloggers and thought leaders that are well worth paying attention to.
I started with a post on LinkedIn to crowdsource candidates and specified that they be 35 or younger. Thirty-five is a somewhat arbitrary cutoff (my brain/body changed more between 40 and 41 than 35 and 36). Still, I had to go with something.
I also looked at things like Greenbook’s Future List and the Significant Insights Global 30 Under 30, scanned Annie Petit’s wonderful market research Bluesky starter pack, and I did some poking around on my own. Things like the Greenbook Future List are great for highlighting breakthrough talent in the field, but honorees do not necessarily write about the industry and in fact many don’t.
So what young market researchers are out there blogging about the industry, leading us along on their own personal and professional journeys? I present the following list, the Whiskey Tango Research Bot’s top ten for young market research bloggers. You can find their writing on LinkedIn, Bluesky, X, personal blogs, corporate blogs, and industry publications. They are listed in no particular order.

Cole Patterson – Cole has worn a lot of hats at Symmetric Sampling—panel recruitment, project management, social media management, AI research, and client service. What's been consistent during his tenure has been his love of writing on the blog. Typically tailored to panelists, his blog posts are a way to bridge the gap between market researchers and the people who make the research possible. Artiom Enkov – Artiom is the VP, Insights & Analytics at Gener8, a data company that rewards users for sharing their clickstream, eReceipt, and app usage data. Artiom centers his writing on the latest passive data use cases and capabilities, often drawing from recent projects and client work. “There's something powerful about putting your thoughts and ideas on paper,” Artiom says. “It forces clarity—helping you articulate what you're building, why it matters, and where it’s headed. It also reveals capability gaps, guiding what to strengthen next and shaping product roadmap priorities.”
